Eco-Swapping on Your Wellness Journey
At Corinne Taylor, we craft natural, vegan self-care solutions while continuously seeking sustainable and eco-friendly packaging alternatives.
Our packaging is recyclable glass, aluminium and cardboard; while some closures contain plastic, we're actively exploring better alternatives to further reduce waste.
We know how important it is to take care of ourselves and the planet on our wellness journeys, so we asked you in our community for some of your sustainable swaps. Together we can make a difference!
Reusable Coffee Cups and Water Bottles
Many of us already own reusable cups or bottles, but their impact remains worth highlighting. Single-use coffee cups and water bottles generate massive amounts of waste, and even when labelled as recyclable, only a small percentage make it through the recycling process.
Social media has played a key role in encouraging people to ditch single-use plastics. However, the trend of collecting reusable cups and bottles in excess can undermine their sustainability benefits. We could say we saw the same with tote bags initially. The goal is to reduce waste, not replace it with overconsumption! Hopefully, this trend is shifting toward mindful use.
If you're looking for a stylish and practical reusable cup (rather than building a collection!), our retailer Ready Sweat Go has a beautiful selection. We're especially loving their Brew Flask in Lavender Haze, a perfect match for our brand’s signature colour!
Eco-Friendly Cleaning Solutions
Conventional cleaning products have a bigger environmental impact than many people realise, contributing to packaging waste, chemical pollution, and air pollution. Some formulas contain harsh ingredients that can be harmful to our skin, wildlife, and aquatic ecosystems. On top of that, their plastic-heavy packaging often ends up in landfill.
Thankfully, making the switch to greener alternatives is easier than ever. From paper-bottled cleaning sprays to refillable solutions and dissolvable cleaning tablets, there are plenty of sustainable options to help reduce waste at home. Pair these with reusable cleaning cloths and biodegradable brushes, and you’ll be well on your way to a greener kitchen!
For eco-friendly cleaning essentials, we love our retailer Coconut & Cotton. They stock a carefully curated range of sustainable kitchen and home products, with recommendations from their founder on their Instagram page.
Ethical Gifting
We all enjoy spreading the love, but perhaps our unethically sourced chocolates and flowers should be a thing of the past? Thankfully, more UK businesses are offering ethically sourced, sustainable alternatives, from cotton wheat bags (a cosy swap for traditional hot water bottles) to houseplant and herb-growing kits. With so many options available, finding the perfect gift has never been easier. And if you're ever stuck, a Corinne Taylor gift box always makes a meaningful choice!
One of our favourite retailers, IzzyBee, creates beautifully curated hampers filled with thoughtful, sustainable products. Their packaging is recyclable, compostable, and plastic-free, and they even offer vegan collections, which we love! If you're looking for the ultimate self-care gift, we highly recommend their Relax Care Package, which includes our Recharge Bath Salts for the perfect wind-down moment.
Thank you for suggesting sustainable swaps for this blog!
